I’ve been to SanAntonioFairTaxes.org, a Web site created by the San Antonio Board of REALTORS®, to learn about my property taxes. I agree with their common-sense approach to making homeownership in San Antonio more affordable:

• Lower property tax rates.
• Reform the appraisal system.

While on this site, I learned that some officials—even a few who are close to home here in Bexar County—seem more intent on raising new revenue for local government than protecting our pocketbooks as homeowners.

I encourage you to check out SanAntonioFairTaxes.org for yourself. From there, you can look up and e-mail area lawmakers—and let them know how you feel.
